Now that I have two new, warrantied, and hopefully reliable cars, I have encountered a conundrum... I have nothing to wrench on, no projects of any kind, and the wife has forbidden me from modding one of our cars and endangering the warranty. So. I guess I need a project.

I am leaning towards old British or Italian. It would have to be extremely cheap. I have found nonrunning MGB GTs like the one above for around a grand, and a guy in my town has an impressive collection of old interesting iron behind his atv shop. Most of it doesn't have titles, but I have a contact for that.

My son has a GT, I say Rover V8 swap and some Sebring fender flares. There are several swaps including a GM V6. The Rover V8 is the correct swap for authenticity though.

Build your own car from scratch.

I'm not so concerned about authenticity...I'd want a straight six.

I have considered doing a vw sandrail type car. Would let me work on those welding skills I haven't used since high school.

That's the reason I got my project. My DD is too reliable and didn't give me any wrenching time :P
knock on wood...

I was thinking about a bike of some kind, but then my mother in law moved in with us, and one of her childhood friends died on one, so that's an issue I'd rather not deal with. We all ague enough as it is.
